Circular ink rubbing stone in zitan box
China, 19th century
An ink rubbing stone of circular shape. The stone itself is unadorned, but the rim on one side is adorned with a band of rectangular key frets, whilst a band of scrolls adorns the opposite rim. The stone is of uniform black colour and one side shows plenty of signs of use. The inkstone is contained within its original zitan box and cover.
