Bronze bottle vase
Japan, Showa period, 1950’s – 1960’s
A bronze vase of pear-shaped bottle form, the gently rounded sides rising from a recessed base and surmounted by a waisted neck that terminates in a straight rim. The vase has a dark brown patina. The long neck contrasts strikingly with the bulbous vessel, resulting in a harmonious sculptural form. The patina of this vase is classical.
