Japan, Showa period, 1926 – 1989

Length: 17 1/8 inches, 43.5 cm
Height: 2 3/4 inches, 7 cm

A hardwood stand of rectangular outline, the supporting sides carved in openwork as branches of a tree with tendrils. The flat surface at the top is undecorated. The stand has a paper label on the reverse, inscribed with the name Nakanishi.

As Nakanishi is a Japanese surname, the name on the paper label might refer to the previous owner.
